Italian Global Aid Foundation
Caring for the suffering all over the world
Our mission is to protect human life, dignity, and psychosocial wellbeing through integrated humanitarian mine action, mental health and psychosocial support (including PTSD recovery), educational initiatives, and sustainable resocialization of conflict-affected and vulnerable communities in close cooperation with European and international partners. The Foundation works to ensure that affected populations regain safety, social inclusion, access to education, and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
About Us
Our foundation was born as an answer to the urgent needs of vulnerable populations — children, women, elderly persons, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced people — who have been disproportionately affected by conflict and displacement. Cut off from education, employment, healthcare, and psychosocial support, many face long-term exclusion, deepening poverty, and a loss of hope for the future.
We were founded in response to the profound psychological impact of prolonged violence and instability. High levels of post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and social isolation continue to affect individuals and families, silently undermining their ability to recover and rebuild their lives.
At the same time, vast areas of civilian land remain contaminated with landmines and explosive remnants of war, posing a constant threat to human life and preventing social, economic, and environmental recovery. Without safety, communities cannot return, livelihoods cannot resume, and development cannot begin.
Born as an answer, our foundation delivers an integrated humanitarian response that addresses human vulnerability first — protecting lives, supporting mental health, expanding access to education, and clearing land to enable safe return, dignity, and lasting recovery.
